Elizabeth Shelton

Bariatric Clinic Director eshelton@innovahealth.net

Elizabeth is our Bariatric Clinic Director and Registered Dietitian as well. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition from Texas State University. Elizabeth is responsible for nutrition education and counseling for our bariatric patients both pre-operatively and post-operatively as prescribed by the surgeon. She also manages the clinic staff and oversees the bariatric program. She is a member of the American and Texas Dietetic Associations as well as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Monica Sanchez

Monica has been with the Innova Hospital Bariatric Program since June of 2007. Monica assists patients in process to have surgery with any insurance or financial questions. She also schedules your surgery date and your pre operative appointment. Monica coordinates the San Anotnio,Houston, Baytown, Beaumont, and Corpus Christi clinics and seminars. Monica is also an American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Integrated Health Member.

Felisa Garza

Felisa has been with the Innova Hospital Bariatric Program since May of 2007. Felisa works closely with each of our Bariatric Patients to assist them with completing all of their insurance criteria requirements, and handles the insurance predetermination process. Felisa also specializes in financing options or arrangements for patients without insurance coverage. Felisa most enjoys calling a patient to let them know they are ready to be scheduled for surgery. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing you had something to do with changing someone else’s life.

Connie Mungia

Connie has been with the Innova Hospital Bariatric Program since January of 2008. Connie verifies insurance benefits for all of our patients and works closely with the insurance companies to stay up to date with the always changing insurance plan’s criteria. Connie most enjoys meeting many new people and interacting with new patients as they come into our program.

Gracie Villanueva

Gracie has been with the Innova Hospital Bariatric Program since October of 2007. Gracie works in the back office vitalizing patients and assisting our surgeons with patient care. When Gracie is not working in the back office she coordinates our front desk. Gracie schedules Pre Operative and Post Operative appointments for all of our surgeons. Gracie most enjoys seeing our patient’s excitement when they see the outcomes of their surgery. Their health problems are resolved and they no longer have high blood pressure, or diabetes, sleep apnea, or joint pain. Their lives change and personalities change. Gracie says,” I have seen from my experience here how patients come in each time with more confidence and a much bigger smile than they started out with.”
